(IN)VALUABLE exhibition announcement

“Public Information and Need of Knowledge” and “Women’s Resource Center Armenia” non-governmental organizations, with the support of European Union and UN Department of Public Information, will jointly hold series of events in the scope of “Diversity Week” during May 21 to May 28.

Among the events an exhibition named (IN)VALUABLE is scheduled as well, which will take place from May 21 to May 23 in the Artists’ Union of Armenia. All the participants wishing to be the part of (IN)VALUABLE exhibition may present their oeuvres (paintings, photography, graphics, caricature, miniature etc) and a short description / interpretation of the works in which the idea of diversity is discussed in any way – ethnic, sexual, cultural, religious, professional, age and other types of diversity. Any participant may present maximum three artworks. The best artworks will be selected by the jury and the audience. The chosen works will be published and multiplied, with the copyright being acknowledged.

The fixed requirements for the compositions are:

  • The content shall not be discriminative nor abusive,
  • The works shall not disparage the dignity of a human being nor of social groups, nor shall they contain hate speech.
  • The works shall be respectful of human rights and basic freedoms.

The works may be submitted to “Public Information and Need of Knowledge” NGO, Yerevan, 0001, Nalbandyan 41/1, apt. 1a or sent via email [email protected].

The deadline to submit artworks is extended till May 16, 2012.

The purpose of the events is to illustrate the diversity existent in Armenia by stressing the ideas of mutual respect, equality and meanwhile unity.
