The most inclusive organizations: Diversity Champions of 2016

For the first time Diversity Champions award ceremony was held on December 9, which took place during the first conference of Non-discrimination and equality coalition (Pink Armenia is a member of Coalition). The winners were those Armenian organizations where is no discrimination in their work and whose staff is the most inclusive.

The five winners of 2016 are:

– Birthright Armenia foundation
– Independent Journalists Network
– Emili Aregak center for children with multiple disabilities
– Peace Dialogue
– Regional Development and Research Center

In the competition into account was taken the balance of gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, religion belief and people living with disabilities of staff members of organizations.

About 20 organizations were considered to have a big potential to become Diversity Champions in future. These are:

– Progress of Gyumri Civil Society Development Center
– Public Voice NGO
– Paradiplomacy Charitable NGO
– National Democracy Platform
