Father Vazgen Movsesyan, a clergyman of the Western Diocese of Armenian Church, has become a member of the board of the LGBT human rights defender organization, Equality Armenia, reports Asbarez.

Father Movsesyan speaks of the importance of homosexuals’ human rights protection for a long time. Through television, radio, print media and social media, he preaches that love is for everyone.

His love is not limited to Armenians or heterosexuals, the newspaper writes. Speaking about the equality of marriage, he said: “Jesus said to love one another, there was no exception… There was no clause to it.”

Of course, there were a lot of attacks on him, but the biggest commotion around Father Movses was raised when he talked about the legalization of homosexual marriages in the United States in 2015:

“Jesus did not say anything about homosexuality in the Gospel. Jesus did not speak about homosexuals nor did he say anything against homosexuality, so the church can not create opposing statements. ”

In addition to his day job, he founded “In His Shoes”, a non-profit organization which rallies support for those who suffer in the world. It was created in response to acts of Genocide perpetrated against the Armenian people in 1915. He believes those who have suffered evil have a unique responsibility to take action against injustice to others.
