The LGBT advertising posters court case against City Hall is dismissed during the last session

27-09-2018

On September 27, Judge Rafael Khandanyan of the Yerevan Administrative Court dismissed the Public Information and Need for Knowledge NGO (Pink Armenia) case against City Hall, by which the organization had demanded the recognition of the violation of its rights and the restoration of the advertising posters.

Two days after the installation of the LGBT tolerance posters, City Hall ordered its removal from Yerevan billboards on May 17, 2017, reasoning that the advertising agency, Nushikyan Association, which installed the posters, did not get permission from City Hall to do so.

The trial, which lasted about 9 months, was dismissed by Khandamyan based on Article 96 of the Administrative code. The September 27 session was the last round where each side presented their final statements. The City Hall representative did not come to the session.

Pink Armenia will appeal to the Appeal Courts.
