Five years old data shows: 86.1 percent of women and 84.4 percent of men reported discriminatory attitudes towards people with HIV/AID, based on the most recent demographic and health survey, which was carried out in 2010, says the US Department of State report concerning Human rights situation in Armenia in 2014.

“The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, in its June 2013 concluding observations, reported de facto discrimination against certain categories of children, including those with HIV /AID,” – is noted in research, citing an example registered in NGO’s, that a school principal dismissed two children from a village school after learning the father of the children was living with HIV.

Referring to human rights defenders in survey is noted that persons regarded as vulnerable to HIV/AIDS infection faced discrimination and violence from society as well as mistreatment by police.
